In 2004 we were asked to redesign around an existing house on Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach, Fl. The 4 acres garden encloses a 1930s house and displays some of the sculpture collected by the owners, who are prominent art collectors.
Our designs numbered several gardens; including a secret garden, a working kitchen garden and a palm garden. In 2005 hurricane Wilma destroyed the garden along with the uprooting of a 30’ ficus, the seawall along the bay and a magnificent Phoenix (date palm).
Today after careful replanting and the benefits of subtropical weather, the garden has become lush and has rebuilt itself in its former majesty.
